ESTIA and FREIA sample environment development

Sample environment development for two reflectometry instruments at ESS.
Making use of the knowledgeand expertise of Prof. Rennie, this project will develop solid-liquid cells for the ESTIA and FREIA instruments.
ESTIA will have a uniquely small beam footprint and low background signal. This calls for new designs for the sample cells that enable the examination of layers of material absorbed from solution, such as lipids, proteins and surfactants.
FREIA has a unique approach to rapid measurements of reflectivity profiles that requires its own new design of sample cells.
